Frequently Asked Questions

Your Journey in Aesthetic Medicine

I am new to Aesthetic Medicine and have decided to look after myself more.  Where do I start?

Your journey should start with a qualified Aesthetics and Cosmetics practitioner such as Dr. Alvin.  A consultation will be scheduled to determine your needs, aspirations, and expectations.  Individualised treatment options will then be designed and offered aligned with your Aesthetic goals.  The consultation is a crucial part of the journey because it will establish your past medical history, medication history, and any contraindications to treatments, allowing Dr. Alvin to tailor the treatment options to you.

What downtime should I expect after treatment?

Most of the treatments offered have little to no downtime.  Each type of service carry with them their own risks, benefits, and possible side effects.  These will all be discussed on the initial consultation.  It is, however, advisable to not have excessive alcohol intake the night before and after the procedure, as alcohol increases the risk of bruising and bleeding.  It is also recommended to allow for at least 2 weeks after the procedure before scheduling any hifu or laser treatments on the same area treated.

What should I prepare for my initial consultation?

It will be ideal to have a list ready of your past medical and surgical history, any information on allergy and intolerances, as well as all medications and supplements prescribed or over-the-counter. This will give Dr. Alvin a thorough idea of what treatments will be appropriate for you.
